Touring the Boston Globe newsroom

Scott Allen, father of JR101-er Evan Allen, has kindly offered to be our guide on a tour of the Globe on Election Day, November 3.

We’ve tried to schedule it so the tour falls square into the classtime: the plan is to meet up at the Morrissey Blvd building at 2:15pm that Tuesday. The tour will take about an hour, and you should be able to easily make it to your next class by 4pm.

We’ll talk logistics on Tuesdays, but the essence is: Red Line to JFK-UMass stop. The Globe is a short walk away. Leave half-an-hour each direction.

Scott Allen is on the Globe’s investigative reporting team, so we should be prepared to pepper him with questions about that, as well as how the Globe is faring and what changes he sees ahead. And if you’ve never seen the physical plant for a major metropolitan newspapers, you must see this.
